Some of our favourite day off venues are listed here. Most important (for the kids) are the facilities, and of course, good food.
La Piazza (Ballito) – This great restaurant has a large outdoor jungle gym area for kids in a sheltered courtyard covered in astroturf. Their indoor area includes a jungle gym as well as computer games and even a big screen projector playing kids TV. The food and service are top notch as well.
Flag Animal Farm (Salt Rock) – The great team at Flag make this place always welcoming. Shows, jungle gym areas, rides and of course animals make this the place to spend the whole morning at (or afternoon).
@Tap Coffee Corner (Durban North) – provides a lovely astroturf garden play area with a restaurant attached.
Go Bananaz (Amanzimtoti) – outdoor heated water park. Nice areas to sit and eat the snacks they sell, there is an air gym, foofie slide and even mini ferris wheel.
Sugar Rush Park (Salt Rock) – lots of facilities like putt putt, a bike track, restaurant and even laser tag.
Marulas Coffee Shop (Westville) – such a chilled venue with a nice playground. The food is great, try the sushi!
